Grooming Agreement
PLEASE NOTE : Quotes provided over the phone are estimates only. Until we are able to see your dog's actual size, true weight, coat condition, and temperament, our quote is considered an estimate only. Difficult animals and matted coats will incur a service fee in addition to the regular grooming fee.
DISCLAIMER / RELEASE OF LIABILITY : during the wash / grooming process, we may take your pet outside our store to walk them to do their business and / or give them a break from being in a kennel for an extended period of time. If you prefer your pet not be taken outside our secure area - please let the attendant know when you check in, that you opt out of this service. By opting out you also agree to any rewash fees should your pet "soil" themselves while in our care. You also agree that your pet will be picked up within 40 minutes of our call, unless prior arrangements were made, or our Day Care fee will also apply.
In the grooming process, all care is taken to ensure the health of your pet. We will do whatever is appropriate for the well being of your pet while in our care. If however the services of a veterinarian are required, the owner extends permission for treatment. A soft muzzle may be used, or services refused or discontinued for the well being of your pet.
Dogs coming in once a year will be charged accordingly and it can be up to four times the “normal regular” grooming price. Professional grooming is required every 2 months on most coated breeds. If the dog has minimal matting and can be brushed out without causing pain or skin abrasions The Paw Spa will brush out the dog at an extra charge to the dog owner.
Sometimes pre-existing conditions arise unforeseen to me, such as skin allergies, shampoo allergies, moles, clipper sensitivity, matting and tangles, fleas, fear, behavioral issues, bone or joint sensitivity, heart condition, seizures, etc. It is helpful that you, as the pet owner, inform me of anything that you are aware of prior to grooming.
Matted coats and excessive undercoats cause a variety of health problems for your pet. Matted fur does not allow for air circulation to the skin, causing hot spots, bacterial and fungal infections. Fleas, ticks and other parasites may be lurking in the coat causing further skin infections. Matted fur also pulls and binds, causing pain to your pet when they move or lay on their mats. The skin underneath can be raw and inflamed.
Severely matted coats will require a short clip. I will be happy to show you how to care for your pet’s coat for the future, however, I cannot brush out a coat that is already severely matted due to the stress and the pain it will undoubtedly cause your pet. I may be able to remove excessive undercoat within reason and tolerance of your pet.
There is a chance that your pet’s skin will become more irritated during the stripping process. He/She may be nicked or cut because I have to work so closely to the skin to remove the coat. I am very careful, but the possibility of injury is there, and you need to be aware of this and give me permission to proceed.
The Paw Spa does anal gland expression externally. If your pet needs deeper extraction he/she will need to see the veterinarian for internal expression. If you do not want this procedure done, you will need to inform us ahead of time. Clogged anal sacs can rupture and cause infection, so please let us know if you know if your dog is licking and/or scooting.
The Paw Spa is open by appointment only. In the even you cannot make you appointment please call us 48 hours in advance so we may fill your slot time as soon as possible. Failure to call in advance will result in a full grooming price charged at next visit and all future grooming must be prepaid.
It is understood the person/persons responsible for bringing the dog to his or her appointment will be on time or you may be charged. Please note if you do show up late your dog will be worked in between other scheduled dogs and may require to be left longer. The Paw Spa reserves the right to reschedule all late dogs for another date and apply late fee to that grooming.
If you wish to drop off your dogs in the morning and pick up after work please let us know when you schedule the appointment. Day care fee will be charged to all owners who do not prearrange this ahead of time. The Paw Spa is open by appointment only and we close when the last dog is completed. All Dogs must be picked up within 40 minutes of our call unless prior arrangements were made or our Day Care fee will apply.
The Paw Spa does not accept checks. We are happy to take Cash, Debit, Visa or MasterCard. All dogs must be up to date on their vaccinations.
I hereby release THE PAW SPA from any responsibility of the above mentioned process and any and all medical problems that may be uncovered and/or may occur.
Should my pet need veterinarian care during or after the process, I agree to pay any and all veterinarian fees for my pet.
